This is the story of how the big brown truck stole Christmas.
In case you haven’t heard. UPS was so overwhelmed that they couldn’t get all the scheduled packages delivered before Christmas day. Looking at the UPS page on Facebook, there are countless complaints about how Christmas has been ruined. If commercialism is the dominant theme in your holiday, it’s no surprise that corporations like UPS and Target will assume the role as the new scrooge.
Wouldn’t it be nice to read just one comment that says something like:
Thank you for helping to remind our family about the true meaning of Christmas. First we talked about the old days before Black Friday and the Internet and even about the days when people went to church on Christmas Eve. Then, after teaching our children a lesson on dealing with minor disappointment, we went on to spend the day together playing games, watching movies and eating lots of great food. Plus when our packages do finally arrive, we’ll have an additional celebration.
Again, not holding my breath.
Wednesday = no-spend day #6
